Mengers is the psych-punk sensation from the bustling capital of Mexico City. After a first album, "GOLLY", which got a lot of attention on the Mexican underground scene, the band drives the point home with its successor "I/O". Inspired by "on/off" switches, Mengers reflects on how life isn't so dual, but rather on how opposites tend to complement each other. Musically, I/O represents an expansion of what's known as the Mengers sound. The fuzz guitars and frenetic drums of the past are still present, but there are more ambitious experiments, exploring more advanced instrumentation into post-punk, giving inflections to their sound.
