Tat2NoisAct is made up of tattooist musicians... or not... and musician tattooists... or not.
Tattooing has become a factory whereas it was once a tool; music is an industry. The underground nature and rebellion once associated with tattooing and punk rock have devolved into consumerist, aestheticized, and sexist acts.
Tat2NoisAct restores a primitive meaning to the act of marking the skin. Far from commercial tattooing and formulaic music, the band reconnects with the DIY spirit of early punk.
The sense of urgency is palpable. In an electric trance, these beings perform a ritual dance where music merges with the buzz of the machines—the sound dictates the stroke, an act through which an indelible score is written.
Tat2NoisAct has existed since 2005, coinciding with the opening of the Brussels tattoo shop "La Boucherie Moderne" by Kostek and Jef Palumbo, both founders of the shop and the band.
The group is intimately linked to an entire generation of tattoo artists such as Ian Black, Léa Nahon, Piet du Congo, and others. For 20 years, the band has toured across Europe, released several records, and more.
